Who is Doing it?
- Seton Hill University, located in Pennsylvania, provided students with one to one iPads. Applications varied from course to course but the Arts faculty used Ipads to access thousands of art galleries containing containing sculptors and paintings. This provided an authentic learning opportunities for students(Educause, 2010).
- In Australia, schools are using apps to help students develop fine motor skills, vocabulary, speech, and design skills (Johnson, Adams, Cummins, Estrada, Freeman, & Ludgate, 2013).
- In Switzerland students are using mobile technologies to capture students learning experiences (Johnson et al., 2013).
- A mobile Learning Initiative was started by New Tier Township High School in Illinois to determine the effectiveness to tablets on student learning (Johnson et al., 2013).
- Corporate businesses are using apps for promoting their businesses and products.
